I've arrived in Maidstone, Kent at 6.30pm. I'm staying at Mode hotel located at kings street. The taxi fare from London to Maidstone cost me 155pound however you could grab uber for 100pound. I somehow felt cheated by the only station who sold sim card as the rest of sim card sold were in the form of vending machine. He told me that uber was ban in london since 2 days ago, i triple confirm it with him and decided to use his cab service. Once i'm out of the airport where my internet start running only i realise there are plenty of uber car waiting outside the Heathrow airport. I don't really care about whether uber is ban in london or not i only want cheap fare.  However Gett app could easily cost me 180pound. Carrying around 31kg of checked in luggage with 8kg hand luggage and 7.5kg backpack alone riding underground train from heathrow airport to victoria station and then by railway to maidstone station with transit in between is impossible especially when staircase in involved even though the fare would be less than 20pound in total.

By 7.30pm the night is already dark.... manage to have my first meal bulgogi in this kokoro restaurant for 5.65pound, i can imagine myself frequent this restaurant alot. The town at 8pm feels like 10pm in Malaysia, i feel like i can sleep at 10pm over here instead of 1am in Malaysia, its all about the environment vibe/feel.
My first impression in regards to Maidstone City is a very lovely place. The buildings line up nicely and is only 2-3 storey tall and the pedestrian walk way is quite big. The city is definitely small size i could easily walk from one end to another in mins. The city give a very cozy vibe everything seems small and well connected and very pedestrian friendly. The road and surrounding places are very clean, there is no litter around. Basically you could get 3-4 banks in the same road and it provides a feeling you could get anything you want within a stone away. Before coming here i thought the place was more like a village but instead it is a lovely wonderful small scale city which i prefer so much more than bigger city which seems intimidating.

The only downside right now is i feel super lonely and alienated as i saw only two asian in the city which is working the restaurant that i went for dinner but they seemed born here as well. Everyone is white like 95% is white with less than 5% black. I feel so small and insecure as i felt i could get gang up anytime. Now i know what it felt to be unique or special in town.

Tomorrow is Sunday can't wait to meet my new friends which is studying in European School of Osteopathy as well. So far, love this town, next is to find myself a lovely place to stay and meet many many new friends or else i'm probably gonna get depressed here.

update: oh gosh staying along the main street at saturday night is not a good idea. 4am right now couldn't sleep suffering not only from 7hour difference but also the combination of car passing by just right outside my window from 2nd floor and people quarelling, yelling and cursing on the street.
Instead i woke up and did research on radiator since i have no idea how these guy work and how do i operate it.
Fan heater is what i'm used to in australia, just adjust the temperature and turn on the fan power and just like a fan it produces some sound.

Now i got this wall mounted radiator with a thermostatic radiator valve attached to it. This sort of radiator uses hot water to heat up the surrounding air that go through from one end and out from the other as you can see from the picture. I will take about 30mins to heat up the room, increasing the number on the valve isn't going to speed up the process. So ideally turn the valve to 3 and wait for 30mins and adjust accordingly based on your heat preference later by maintain or turning up/down a number.
