Bought an Electric Bike

Image
I just bought an electric bike online Volt Metro... is a small foldable bike for $1300. Because i do not know how to drive manual so is hard for me to get a cheap second hand auto car in Maidstone. For around $1500 you could easily obtain a second hand manual car which is 7-8 years old. However you probably have to fork out another $1000 for road tax and insurance. I've never ridden an electric bike and is really great fun to have one. It weighs around 20kg and it have a lever where you push and it will help you to kick start your bike, hence it is a great feature if you always have to stop for traffic as it is hard to ride (kick start) the bicycle initially for the first few sec as it weigh 20kg. Then there is Automatic and 4 level of assist, the assist make it effortless to go up hill but going down hill is too fast and i find myself keep braking alot. Even though foldable is convenient for storage as i can keep this in my house, however being small also means there is a s

Things coming together piece by piece

The top left corner picture is the room that stay for few days when i first came, the bottom room is a student accomodation at bower terrace cost $450 a month including bills, comes with a small bathroom (ensuite) this is my backup option, the below room is where i stayed for 2 weeks for $100/week while i look for permanent accomodation, staying in this room really upset my mood alot as there isn't wardrobe, the bed is very soft and springy, no radiator, hot water only last 1min.... i felt dreadful living here and was really down..... the room on the right is what i was waiting for to be available.... is a bunk bed with desk beneath the bed.... the room is small but is only gonna cost $150 with bills included and i would be living with 3 other student from my school. Because i was so upset during my time renting for 2 weeks, the location is far as well and i have to take 2 buses to reach school or else i have to walk 30mins to city to take bus to school. So i went slig

Trouble settling down

If i'm honest to myself, i hate to admit it, but i'm having trouble settling down in UK after 9 days here. I found myself very lonely during weekends and when school finishes half day. I'm still looking for a better accommodation currently. I do not stay in a student house so i got no one to communicate with. Is all just me and myself living in a room with a landlord. This is my current situation, i can only spend time in my room and eat in the dining space, other times i'm not allowed to chill in the the living or dining area as the area are private area for the family, i could not use the drying tumbler to dry my clothes as the electricity is high. The weather in maidstone, UK is always drizzling i found my clothing more wet when i hang them out compare to when just finished in washing machine. Right now my room have clothes lying everywhere. My room doesn't have wardrobe and desk or chair. So i'm sitting on the floor with laptop on my single bed. I can spen

GYM in maidstone

Image
There's quite a few gym available in Maidstone. The cheapest is Tru gym $15-20/month followed by Core gym 17-22/mth which opened in 2016. Snap fitness 28/mth just opened in 2017. Out of this three i really like Core gym atmosphere alot, it resonate the most with how i used to train when i'm strong & healthy. I've decided to sign up with David Llyod gym for $45-55/month. The reason being it is a lifestyle center, it has a heated swimming pool, classes (core gym doesn't have studio for class) and a cafe which sell healthy meal and understand what gym ppl wanted. Not only that because i plan to cycle to gym, the place has bicycle parking in the gym building itself at ground floor (i feel safer since i'm going for electric bike which costs alot more). It tick all of my box, since i injured my knee cartilage i can no longer lift heavy weight, so swimming comes in very hand and there are yoga and pilate class that i could join. Furthermore due to the high price ther

Travelling up London (transport in maidstone)

Image
Today is a Saturday morning, i'm pretty much familiar with part of maidstone now, especially the city since i've been walking and walking and walking around maidstone usually about 40mins each time. I'm also used to the public transport now. The bus in UK is not punctual, most of the time it is late up to 15-20mins, sometimes when its early a few minutes, some bus driver will wait till the schedule arrival time while others just drove by the station if no one was there. I'm currently staying in upper fant road no.3xx, from my place to school required 2 different bus company. Walk 8mins to bus station pay $1.50 to ride to city then walk a few minutes and change bus to school cost $2.50. Because there is 2 different bus company hence i couldn't purchase (not worth) daily, weekly, or monthly ticket. The bus company in town is called ARRIVA while the one to boxley school is called Nu-venture. I took this journey from my hse to school only once because the arriva

First Day of School

Image
Welcome to European school of Osteopathy, my first day of school after graduating back in year 2007 in Bachelor of Pharmacy, Curtin University, Perth, WA. Woke up early in the morning at 6am feeling excited ready to take on the world, took 8.20am bus and arrive at 8.50am. The moment i got off the bus there are a few more people that got down as well, straightaway we knew we are a bunch of osteopathy student walking to school from the bus station. Apparently it is rare people take buses to ESO most of them drive or have those who have car to give them a lift. We chat along the way from the bus stop to the school takes about 5-7mins. The moment i enter the school there like 30-40 students already there and started introducing myself to those around me. There are plenty of students from france, switzerland & italy and i couldn't pronounce their name, is just too hard. In total there's 75 student in the 1st year, quite a large group as usually the size is around 50 st

Feeling down (my experience with Hives)

Image
One of my worry came true, in year 2003 when i went to perth, australia to study pharmacy in the first year i develop a condition called hives (eczema). This condition was triggered by my skin unable to tolerate or adapt to the weather in perth. I ask my lecturer regarding my condition and she ask me take polaramine (drowsy antihistamine) , I've been to A&E and the doctor told me my skin is having trouble perspiring (bullshit). Anyway all i could do was to take drowsy antihistamine on daily basis and still it doesn't really work. With this skin condition i'm afraid of sun (like a vampire), if i'm expose to sun my skin will develop rashes, and most of the time i need to cool myself down under running water to ease the itch. So for one whole year i feel drowsy on daily basis, and do not have any social life since i can't go out under the sun. Not only that i could not have any emotion changes, for example if someone scares me or i felt there is a emotional shift,

I've arrived in Maidstone, Kent at 6.30pm. I'm staying at Mode hotel located at kings street. The taxi fare from London to Maidstone cost me 155pound however you could grab uber for 100pound. I somehow felt cheated by the only station who sold sim card as the rest of sim card sold were in the form of vending machine. He told me that uber was ban in london since 2 days ago, i triple confirm it with him and decided to use his cab service. Once i'm out of the airport where my internet start running only i realise there are plenty of uber car waiting outside the Heathrow airport. I don't really care about whether uber is ban in london or not i only want cheap fare.  However Gett app could easily cost me 180pound. Carrying around 31kg of checked in luggage with 8kg hand luggage and 7.5kg backpack alone riding underground train from heathrow airport to victoria station and then by railway to maidstone station with transit in between is impossible especially when staircas
